It limits the access that a script has solely to its own folder, so if one of your Internet sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but will not be able to access any other content inside your account, which means that the damage will be minimal. Needless to say, using JailHost doesn't substitute the security measures you should always take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, yet it'll allow you to limit the damage to one site only.
JailHost in Cloud Hosting
You can take full advantage of JailHost with each and every cloud hosting plan that we offer and protect your Internet sites against attacks really easy. Each domain and subdomain in the Hepsia Control Panel that is provided with our packages has a different folder and in contrast to what can often happen with other Control Panels, the content is not mixed in just a single main folder, so keeping the websites separate is quite easy. Activating JailHost for any website takes only a few clicks, so even if you do not have a lot of experience, you will not need any specific skills to maintain your websites secure. The option is not active by default in case that you wish to use some script that needs accessibility to an additional folder inside your account. If you use JailHost, the remaining websites that you have will be protected, but even a hacked one will not remain affected for long as we will have a couple of daily backup copies for it at all times, so that we could easily restore it.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers
JailHost comes with all of our semi-dedicated server plans and you could activate it with a couple of clicks. It is not turned on by default because we do not want to prevent some scripts that need to gain access to multiple folders in the account from functioning properly. You will be able to enable JailHost for all other websites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and this can be done easily even if you do not have any previous experience. What allows us to offer JailHost is the way in which Hepsia manages multiple domains - they all have separate folders which could be "locked". In contrast, other popular Control Panels have add-on domains and their content is kept in the primary domain folder, so if a single Internet site is hacked, the whole account is hacked, that isn't the case with Hepsia. If an Internet site is damaged despite your efforts, we will be able to recover it the way it was in no time as we'll have several daily backup copies of the entire account.
